Functional Medicine Health Coaching is a personalized and holistic approach to improving your overall health and well being. We look at the root cause of health issues focusing on you as a whole. Together, we may explore the five pillars of lifestyle contributing to YOUR health; stress, sleep, nutrition, exercise and relationships. I help educate, encourage and empower you towards the changes you want to make to be able to live your best life.

HEARTMATH TECHNIQUE FOR STRESS, RESILIENCY AND SELF-REGULATION

What Sets Me Apart?
In addition to being a certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, I am a certified Breathwork Coach and a Certified HeartMath Practitioner for Stress, Anxiety and Self-regulation. I will guide you through practices that may provide a balancing effect for your nervous system. Imbalances or dysregulation of the nervous system can contribute to various health issues, including chronic stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, and cardiovascular problems. Practices such as breathwork and stress management techniques can help promote nervous system regulation and contribute to overall health and resilience.
Perhaps some of my story resonates with you; juggling work, a family, a busy household, and autoimmune disease affecting myself and my two boys. I didn't realize that I was living in my "fight or flight" (stress) nervous system for so long and how prolonged, low level stress propagates unhealth. When I found Functional Medicine and began to apply the principles to my life and my family's life, the healing journey began. Managing stress is the foundation for health. Even low levels of prolonged stress can contribute to disease and not allow our bodies to heal emotionally or physically, regardless of how well we eat and how much we exercise. When I discovered the power that breathwork has on regulating the nervous system, changing our physiology and biochemistry and reducing stress, it changed my life for the better. Let me support you in creating the foundation for your health through the principles of breathwork and other stress reduction techniques. Let's lay the foundation for your health together.
How is a Health Coach Different from a Nutritionist or Functional Medicine Practitioner?
A nutritionist specializes in the field of nutrition, providing expertise in dietary assessment, planning, and education. A functional medicine health coach takes a broader, more holistic approach to health, considering various lifestyle factors. I work with you to find the foods and ways of eating that work best for your body and lifestyle. I will also help you with movement and exercise, sleep optimization, stress management and relationship building. Coaching is more like counseling than medical treatment. We work together to clarify your health goals. I don’t diagnose, prescribe, or treat any medical condition as a physician would. I will work together with your physician or any of your health care practitioners. I partner with YOU in a collaborative and supportive manner to help you achieve your health and wellness goals.
What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine looks at the "HOW" and the "WHY" disease occurs. Rather than just treating an isolated set of symptoms, Functional Medicine addresses the root cause of disease. It looks at the interconnectedness of the body as a whole taking into the account the mind, body and spirit.

ABOUT
Dr. Rosanne Bloom, DDS, MS, FMCHC
With over 27 years experience as an Orthodontist and running a busy practice, I believe working as a team is important. As a Functional Medicine Health Coach and Breathwork Coach, I empower individuals to optimize their well-being through personalized lifestyle interventions and conscious breathwork techniques, fostering holistic healing and sustainable health transformations. With a blend of evidence-based practices and mindful guidance, I support clients in achieving vitality, balance, and inner harmony.
I majored in microbiology in college and went on to earn my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) from The University of Maryland School of Dentistry. I then pursued a 3 year residency in Orthodontics at The University of Florida College of Dentistry where I received my certificate in Orthodontics and a Masters of Science Degree in Oral Biology. I opened my own Orthodontic practice and practiced for 27 years.
After my own personal wellness journey with autoimmune disease and with my son, where conventional medicine wasn’t giving us all of the answers, I discovered functional medicine. From birth, my older son (now 25) suffered from many medical problems; severe multiple food allergies, asthma, eczema and autoimmune issues. The ongoing hospitalizations and illnesses were numerous and scary. It was a day to day struggle that posed many challenges , especially for a busy working mom trying to juggle running a business, a household and being there for my family. The summer before high school, he spent two weeks in the hospital fighting for his life with a Histoplasma Pneumonia. Then a few months later came the diagnosis of severe Crohn's Disease. I knew there was something greater causing all of his medical issues and this is when I started self studying Functional Medicine. This is when I became passionate about lifestyle medicine, using food as medicine and began to really understand what truly contributes to health and wellness. My son’s story is unique and we were fortunate to put him in remission with food, lifestyle modifications and other natural therapies.
When it came time to stop practicing orthodontics, I enrolled in the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. I felt so fortunate to be able to study and put to use another great passion of mine.
I recognize that each person is unique. I will take the time to understand your specific health concerns, lifestyle, and goals. I won't use a one-size-fits-all approach but will tailor my guidance to you. Through clarity and awareness, you can make sustainable lifestyle choices that will help you feel your best.
